Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars. And some Street Fighter bashing

I have not really enjoyed my 3ds that much. I bought the big game Super Street Fighter IV on day one and was playing it on the subway a lot. And it just does not resonate with me. I don´t like the 3d. A lot of people talk about whether or not the 3d adds anything to the gameplay. I do not care about that. I just want it to look pretty. And SSFIV just does not look pretty. The 3d is boring and the backgrounds are dead dead dead. the gameplay just is not my style. Maybe I just don´t have the reaction time to play this kind of game. I feel like spamming just the best thing to do and I don´t like it.

But now, finally I have found a game that I really like. I was interested in Tom Clancy´s Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars from day one, but mixed reviews made me hesitant to spend 400 kr on it. Two weeks I found out that cdon.com sold it for half that price and I was all over it. I am really enjoying this game. Turn based strategy is a new love for me (if you do not count my enjoyment of chess) and I have only really enjoyed it since I played Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn for the Nintendo Wii.

Shadow wars has great gameplay, sweet sounds, and best of all, some really pretty 3d. The intro has a short  first person perspective video in 3d and that was something that I have been looking forward to seeing. I will try to give you better impressions further into the future. Don´t have time to keep blogging now. But whatever.

Gamer Pics #1, Dragons Lair Stockholm, Warhammer 3D pictures

Today I bring you Gamer Pics #1. If you want to be in a gamer pic, drop me a line and tell me why at sthlmgeek@gmail.com

So this is me playing Super Street Fighter IV and it´s all just an excuse to show that I have bought a Nintendo 3ds! I bought the Aqua Blue version and I am pretty happy with it. You should expect some updates about Streetpass and other fun stuff in the future.

Anyway, I put my 3ds to good use yesterday at the game night at Dragons Lair Stockholm. I had some trouble with the lighting and such but please, if you have the possibility to view .mpo files (3d images) you are very welcome to download this archive and check out some sweet Warhammer figurines!

It seemed to be a sweet night at Dragons Lair and the place was filled with tabletop and computer gamers battling it out. I checked out a Warhammer 40k game for the first time ever and played some Left 4 Dead and Starcraft with Tiger. I missed out on the free Magic the Gathering playing and I am a bit bummed out about that but it was a good night anyway.

Looking forward to the Dreamhack Invitational going down on Tuesday. Too bad I missed out on the tickets!

Later players.
